22:19 Now therefore, please stay ¹  the night here also, that I may know what more the Lord might say to me.” ²

34:18 You must take one leader from every ³  tribe to assist in allocating the land as an inheritance. ⁴ 

[22:19]  ¹ tn In this case “lodge” is not used, but “remain, reside” (שְׁבוּ, shÿvu).

[22:19]  ² tn This clause is also a verbal hendiadys: “what the Lord might add to speak,” meaning, “what more the Lord might say.”

[34:18]  ³ tn This sense is created by repetition: “one leader, one leader from the tribe.”

[34:18]  ⁴ tn The sentence simply uses לִנְחֹל (linkhol, “to divide, apportion”). It has been taken already to mean “allocate as an inheritance.” Here “assist” may be added since Joshua and Eleazar had the primary work.
